Anyone aged 16 and over can come on a mission trip with us at JHM Scotland.

Here are some usueful facts:
Participants can come on an individual mission experience or as part of a group mission team.
Our set international destinations are typically Kitale, Kenya, Mombassa, Kenya & Andra Pradesh, in India
Applicants will need to save up or fundraise for their trip/mission.
Prticipants may be from any faith, ethnic, gender or national background.
It is not a free mission trip/experience!

What are the steps I need to take to go on mission?

  • Complete a mission trip inquiry/application online.
  • Await confirmation/acceptance to the mission trip requested.
  • Pay your mission trip deposit on acceptance.
  • Apply for your visa application at the applicable embassy.
  • Complete your vaccination/travel injections well in advance.
  • Arrange your travel health insurance.
Due to the advent of Covid-19, no international mission is planned for the forseeable future.

Here are some very important mission travel guidelines:
  • Trips are in two weeks [14 Days] blocks/duration at any one time
  • You should reserve your place on the trip at least 3 months/90 days in advance.
  • Please note that all applicants will be vetted & interviewed for suitability.
  • Accommodation will be at the mission house/lodge overseas at ag good standard.
  • Food is tailor made to European standard for your benefit.
  • You are responsbile for your travel insurance.
  • You are responsible for your travel visa & vaccination - Assistance/guidance will be provided.
  • Full payments are due no longer than 30 days before the scheduled trip.
  • Medical outreach missions are for those with some degree of medical training/experience.
  • Please note that this will be a Christin faith mission trip.
Our mission trips are not holidays abroad in the sun, though it has relaxation & tour components. They are designed to enable participants to see our work and to join us in ministering to the people we care for. Your participation will be hands on and full on and you will get a chance to minister, encourage, pray with and love on the needy and those less well off in the nations. You will get a chance to see JHM operating in the nations.

You should expect to:Ta
  • Fly into Mombassa direct & be met by our mission staff.
  • Eat together & travel around together with other mission trip participants.
  • Visit out mission projects and the people we serve & minister to.
  • Particiants in local domestic violence campaign efforts in schools & in the community.
  • Experience a 'Walk-In-Their-Shoes' scheme where you live like a local for one day.
  • Visit schools, shelters, churches & hospitals we work with on the ground.
  • You will experience the culture, music, traditions & hospitality to the full.
  • You will go on limited Safaris, excursions and visit to local museums.
  • You will participate in any ongoing conference, revival or open air prayers.
  • You may get a chance to participate in street outreach, missions outreach or medical outreach trips.
  • Our mission trips are not holidays abroad in the sun, though it has relaxation & tour components.     You should expect to:
  • No drinking, sexual exploitation of local women/men during this trip.
  • No drug use or illicit drug abuse on this trip except legally prescribed medicine.
  • Comply with all the safetu guidelines put in place to protec you from harm.
  • Accept responsibility to represent JHM with dignity and cultural sensitivity by being dignified at all times.
  • No swaering, insulting, disrespecting our staff and the local people hosting you.
  • Conduct yourself in a courteous, dignified and respectful manner at all times.
  • Respect, adhere to and enforce the rules, policies, and guidelines set in place by JHM.
  • Respect the values, beliefs, culture & traditions of the host country
  • Respect and obey the locla laws & comply to their regulations at all times.
  • Note that matters of physical abuse, violence, rape, sexual assault, theft or similar crimes will be reported to the local police force.
  • You will be expected to participate in any ongoing conference, revival or open air prayers.
  • Take care of, handle and manage all property and equipment provided to you during your visit.
  • Do not malhandle any machinery, vehicles, gadgets or equipment supplied for your use.
  • Handle all upsetting issues in a calm, polite & dignified manner at all times
  • Treat the local people with respect, talk to them with respect & dignity and do not look down on anyone.
  • Please understand that failure to adhere to this code of conduct, or participation in an inappropriate manner may lead to you being removed from the mission trip and returned home
  • The cost listed below are guidelines and are subject to change on short notice.
    Flights cost may vary depending on the nation you are coming from to join our mission team.

  • Room & Board based on sharing a room with another person of the same gender - £450/12 Nights.
  • Room & Board based on single, private, self contained room- £550/12 Nights.
  • Daily transport/Entry fees for Safari, museums & Sundries: £150/Trip
